TWP Deck Stain a Product Family

A family of wood friendly semi-transparent stains

Amteco/TWP began manufacture of Total Wood Protection (TWP) wood preservatives, protectorants, and stains after receiving EPA Registration in 1985. Since their incorporation in 1980, the sole mission of Amteco/TWP has been to offer to market best in class stain products and preservatives as is afforded by available technology. This commenced with TWP 100 Series formulation in the early years of Amteco/TWP and continued through to more eventual earth friendly offerings that comprise the TWP 1500 series which first sought a reduction in Volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). Throughout the ages the Family of TWP Products has matured considerably and current TWP formulation is planned to satisfy the continually changing landscape of expanding government regulations and the growing needs of the consumer/business model.

TWP Today

The present ownership, Gemini Industries, acquired the company after many years of co-licensing the TWP technology. The merger of the two companies is sure to unveil new product offerings in exterior wood preservatives, protectorants, and stains.

Why is EPA Registration Important

All products making claims to destroy or suppress the growth of microorganisms such as mold and/or mildew on inanimate objects and surfaces must submit chemical makeup, acceptable data on product performance (effectiveness), toxicological effects, ecological effects and ecological fate to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) for approval of such claims. All US pesticide products, including wood preservatives, are regulated by EPA and may not be sold with such claims until EPA has approved the formulations and granted an EPA Registration number which must then appear on the product label.
